Has the ability to manipulate exams to meet the needs of the patient and the doctor. Always practices ALARA. Always makes sure to check positive identification before performing all exams; provides care for patients while obtaining diagnostic quality images for interpretation by a Radiologist based on their protocols. Has advanced knowledge of contrast media, how it affects patients and what action to take in the event of a reaction. Checks and double checks all contrast before it is given to the patient and charts contrast usage appropriately in the patients chart. Ability to work fluidly and as a member of a team. CERTIFICATION/LICENSES: ARRT certification in CT required and New Mexico State licenses required. New hires will be required to have ARRT certified in CT within 6 months of being hired if they have attended an accredited CT program. BLS certification issued through American Heart Association is required within one month of hire date. IV certification preferred.
