Job Summary :     Obtains appropriate echocardiographic images according to the Medical and Technical Directors and industry standards, including M-Mode, 2D, Doppler, Color flow Doppler, Strain, Transesophageal Echo, echo enhancement, and bubble studies. Covers on-call responsibilities and weekend rotations as defined by clinical location. Core Competencies:  The Cardiac Sonographer Staff will display and maintain competencies to perform all core competencies as defined by clinical location for the Echocardiography Lab, which may include transthoracic echocardiograms (TTE), Strain, ultrasound enhancing agents (UEA), bubble studies, routine transesophageal echocardiograms (TEE per protocol), and TEE cardioversion.

Covers on-call responsibilities and weekend rotations as defined by clinical location.

The Cardiology Technologist performs transthoracic echocardiograms, stress echocardiograms, transesophogeal echocardiograms, treadmills, cardiac  stress test (including exercise, pharmacologic, and nuclear medicine), 12-lead electrocardiograms, peripheral arterial studies using segmental pressures, and Holtor Monitor (application and scanning). Has full access to patient health information.  Shift: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, rotating every 4th weekend Requirements Successful completion of an accredited echocardiography program or minimum 5 years echocardiography experience in an acute care setting. Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) Computer skills preferred. Must possess full range of body motion to pass a basic FIT test to include bending, stooping, standing and sitting for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
