Overview The Orthopaedic Cast Technician is responsible for applying and removing multiple types of splints and casts on patients with fractures, extreme sprains, and torn tendons/muscles. Orders supplies, maintains cast room/bay areas, cleans casting equipment, and assists the supervising provider or nurse as needed. Provides immobilization and continuing care for Orthopedic patients. Develops a strong working knowledge of the musculoskeletal system and in-depth knowledge of multiple types of current forms of immobilization including casts and splints.
