The Cardiac Advanced Practice Provider ( APP ) works in collaboration with a multidisciplinary healthcare team. As the cardiac APP , the primary role is to provide perioperative care for all cardiac floor patients. This includes inpatient management of floor status patients from admission/transfer to discharge and occasional outpatient management. This position will primarily provide weekend coverage and work every other Friday; other hours/schedule as needed. The APP demonstrates an advanced level of medical knowledge, clinical and technical competency, sound clinical judgment, professionalism related to interpersonal and general communication skills, timely and compliant documentation, and takes responsibility for ongoing professional development and competency validation.

The APP Surgical First Assistant collaborates with a multidisciplinary healthcare team and functions as a member of the primary surgical team. This requires management of all aspects of patients from admission to discharge, including first assisting them in the operating room. The APP will see the patient in pre-, intra-op, post-op, and follow-up. The APP has a strong foundation in evidence-based practice and education and ensures an environment of safe, quality care. The APP functions in the OR in conjunction with the attending surgeon. The APP demonstrates an advanced level of medical knowledge, clinical and technical competency, sound clinical judgment, professionalism related to interpersonal and general communication skills, timely and compliant documentation, and takes responsibility for ongoing professional development and competency validation.

The APP functioning within the neurology ambulatory setting works in collaboration with, and is an integral member of, a multidisciplinary health care team. The APP functions primarily in the clinic managing the neurological needs of the identified population and may also work closely with the outpatient cardiology testing groups like EMG , MRI , etc. The APP is generally on a service aligned team and manages the care of the outpatient with the team. In some instances the APP may have responsibilities for this same patient population in the consultative inpatient setting or serves a resource for the inpatient care team. The APP has a strong foundation in evidenced based practice and education and has a responsibility for ensuring an environment of safe quality care.
