Telemetry Tech Weekend - Telemetry Monitoring - PT - 1st Shift

Overview The monitoring tech is responsible for the continuous observation of the patient's cardiac rhythm. Duties include application and removal of electrodes, notification of floor staff of changes in rhythms and all life threatening dysrhythnmias Qualifications Education: HS/GED required. Additional Skills/Abilities: After 12 hours of instruction in the telemetry department, must be able to pass the 1st part of a 2 part comprehensive exam. Part 1 being 'Telemetry AV Conduction and Electrophysiology of the Heart' in order to maintain employment. After 90 days of preceptorship, must be able to pass the 2nd part of the comprehensive exam that will be presented, which consists of 'Accurate Strip Interpretation' in order to maintain employment.
