Job Description: The Apprentice role allows candidates to complete a surgical technologist training program while learning on-the-job to develop industry-specific skills. As a member of the surgical team, the Surgical Technologist ensures the operative procedure goes smoothly, efficiently, and complies with all safety processes and policies. Apprentices enrolled in the program will be integrated into the OR team; upon successful completion of the training program the apprentice may be hired as a Surgical Technologist. Job Description: The Intermountain Health Organ Procurement and Perfusion (IHOPP) Surgical Technician IV is a transplant specialty expert who supports organ recovery, preservation, and transport for the Intermountain Transplant Program. This role assists surgeons in the operating room, performs select first‑assist tasks within scope, and ensures accurate organ labeling, packaging, and documentation in compliance with OPTN policy. The position also supports machine preservation of organs, including setup, cannulation, monitoring, and care during hypothermic or normothermic perfusion. Advanced training and national certification in organ preservation/perfusion are required.
