Provides leadership for medication safety event reporting and response, educates providers and staff on the system-based causes for medication errors, communicates best practices regarding effective medication safety strategies to others within the system and interfaces with hospital site and system pharmacy and quality representatives on medication safety issues. Responsible for review, analysis and trending of all medication safety events for the system (medication errors and adverse drug events (ADEs)) and participation in any root cause analysis involving a medication event as well as creation or review/revision of patient care policies that impact the safe use of medications.
