DESCRIPTION OF POSITION: The Registered Cardiac/Vascular Sonographer performs high quality diagnostic echo-cardiograms and vascular ultrasound for both inpatients and outpatients. SUPERVISION: Reports directly to Nurse Manager and/or Charge Nurse RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: Performs high quality diagnostic echo-cardiograms for both inpatients and outpatients. Performs high quality peripheral vascular studies for both inpatients and outpatients. Performs and processes ultrasound studies in cardiac and vascular resulting in high quality images in a timely and efficient manner. Is knowledgeable of and implements procedures, protocols, standards and guidelines under ASE and the supervision of the cardiologist. Gathers, sends and interprets clinical data as assigned per doctors orders to cardiology Pacs system. Documents legibly and charge daily procedures.
