Unit Description: The Infusion Nurse in the Adult Infusion Center provides infusion, injection, and transfusion therapies to adult patients in an ambulatory setting. Key aspects of this direct-care role include insertion of peripheral intravenous catheters; establishing access via utilizing implanted devices; administration of non-hazardous therapies; supporting the infusion patient during their appointments; and patient assessment and education. Unit Description: UVMMC has the only interventional Cath Lab in the state, and we manage patients throughout northern and central VT and upper NY State. We offer state of the art diagnostic, interventional, peripheral, and structural heart procedures. We are an RN only lab with monitor, circulator and scrub roles for all staff. We use multiple modalities including IVUS, OCT, FFR, Impella, IABP in the treatment of our patients with cardiovascular and peripheral disease. Our structural heart program includes PFO/ASD closure, TAVR, and Mitral Clip. Experience in Cardiology or critical care is preferred.
