Job Summary:   To perform a variety of technical, clerical, and related duties in connection with the activities of the hospital pharmacy; utilizes automation to credit or charge medications to patient accounts;   fill requisitions and deliver drugs to nursing units; assist in checking, ordering, and storing floor stock items; and dispense medications under direct supervision of a pharmacist.

The purpose of the Medication Reconciliation Technician is to review, clarify, document and verify with the patient when possible, their Prior to Admission (PTA) medications. This will be done within 24 hours of admission to the hospital. Utilize the patient’s pharmacy, family, caregiver or prior office records to further investigate and verify the patient’s medication history. Confirm medications that need to be added or removed from the medication list. Once the medication list is completed, the Attending Physician will be notified that the medication list is current and verified and alert them of any changes, discrepancies or medications needing to be added or removed. The Med Rec Tech will perform these duties primarily in the Emergency Department, but also in the Med Surg units, Outpatient Surgery and the Skilled Nursing Facility as needed. Job Summary :     The Supervisor of Pharmacy Operations position helps to participate in, direct, and supervise the day-to-day operations of the pharmacy department related to medication preparation and distribution and other pharmacy supported services. The Supervisor of Pharmacy Operations assigns duties and tasks to employees; monitors workload and makes appropriate adjustment to achieve patient care goals; creates and monitors work schedule to ensure adequate staffing. Additionally, the Supervisor of Pharmacy Operations facilitates pharmacy technician meetings and other department-initiated communication such as shift huddles and safety huddles. Ensure staff accountability with policies and procedures; monitors and identifies opportunities for department and personnel performance improvement; conducts 1 on 1 meetings with team, documenting progress, motivating, and corrective action, if needed.
