This Hematology/Oncology Clinical Pharmacist float will provide comprehensive, patient centered pharmacotherapy primarily in the hematology/ BMT service lines, including therapeutic drug monitoring, drug regimen review, patient education, and medical staff interactions. This position also provides educational opportunities to pharmacy students, residents, pharmacists, physicians, and nurses through precepting, in-service presentations, and teaching at the College of Pharmacy. Pharmacists contribute to the scholarly productivity of the enterprise through clinical research, quality improvement, presentations, publications, etc., and uphold UK Healthcare core values and maintain effective teamwork with pharmacists, residents, technicians, interns, physicians, nurses, allied health staff, and others.

This position will also provide educational services to pharmacy students, residents, pharmacists, physicians, and nurses through precepting, in-service presentations, and didactic teaching at the College of Pharmacy, contribute to the scholarly productivity of the enterprise through clinical research, quality improvement, presentations, publications, etc., and uphold UK Healthcare core values and maintain effective teamwork with pharmacists, residents, technicians, interns, physicians, nurses, allied health staff, and others. The starting pay for this position was recently adjusted. The minimum salary for this position will now be $104,697/year. All pay rates will be based on candidate’s experience.

The Ambulatory/Retail Pharmacist Clinical Staff/ UKHC plays a critical role in the delivery and expansion of long-acting injectable ( LAI ) psychiatric services within our clinic. This pharmacist will be primarily responsible for the administration of LAI medications, ensuring safe, timely, and protocol-driven care to support patient stability and adherence. In collaboration with providers and care teams, this role will also contribute to the ongoing development and growth of the LAI clinic, helping streamline workflows, enhance patient access, and improve clinical outcomes for individuals with serious mental illness. Provides Pharmaceutical Care to patients in Kentucky Children’s Hospital inpatient hospital setting. Reviews and interprets medication orders and drug profiles to ensure appropriate drug therapy has been prescribed. Contacts and confers with physicians and other practitioners to optimize drug therapy. This will include active review of patient profiles, provision of therapeutic drug monitoring, participation in emergency response, etc. Compounds and dispenses medications for neonatal and pediatric patients. Provides supervision of technical staff and confirms the quality and accuracy of dispensed products. Maintains inventory and records on narcotics and other forms of drugs.
