Overview As a PBX (Private Branch Exchange) Operator, you are often the first point of contact the public has with the hospital. Whether calling to ask about a patient, to inquire about a bill, or to find out if they should come to the emergency room, the operator is the first person with whom a caller interacts, and that interaction can set the tone for their whole experience. Responsibilities You will also be the person trusted to connect calls between departments within the hospital, to contact providers on call, and to announce codes and notify the correct people when alarms sound.
