Responsibilities The primary purpose of the Nurse Manager of the Operating Room position is to operationalize the care delivery system in the Operating Room through the skillful directing, coaching, support, and delegation to staff in the provision of clinically and fiscally sound care and services to achieve patient/family goals, efficiency, and safety. The Nurse Manager has 24 hours responsibility for the unit/service area and develops dynamically functioning surgical teams. She/he sustains the daily operational functioning of the surgical service and makes immediate modifications to prevent impediments and delays.
