DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:
The Unit Tech/Monitor Tech assumes responsibility for the organization and clerical activities for the nursing unit.
SUPERVISION: Reports directly to Nurse Manager and/or Charge Nurse
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Works under the direction of the Nurse Manager or the Charge Nurse.
Communicates appropriately with patients, visitors, and staff, in a timely and efficient manner.
Performs unit tasks in an effective and timely manner.
Demonstrates accuracy and efficiency in computer and clerical skills.
Gathers and distributes clinical data as assigned.
Orders supplies and maintains nurses' station in an orderly, neat manner.
Documents legibly according to hospital policy.
Utilizes equipment appropriately (printer, computer, telephone, fax machine, etc)
Actively participates in implementation of PI plan.
