The Nurse Technician is a student RN working under the direct supervision of an RN assisting the nursing staff with patient care. The Monitor Tech monitors patients EKG rhythm patterns on electrocardiograph monitors. Makes note of irregular rhythms and monitors changes in rhythms. Ensures that monitors are functioning properly. Relies on established guidelines to accomplish tasks. Works under close supervision. Interpretation & Reporting of Cardiac Monitoring Accurately interprets cardiac rhythms and records monitor strips on the cardiac monitoring form on all telemetry patients every 8 hours and as needed.
