JOB REQUIREMENTS Education Must be a graduate from an approved MLT school and registered with the American Society of Clinical Pathologists or ASCP registry eligible and fulfils Federal Register section 493.1495 personnel requirements. Experience Previous experience in a clinical laboratory desirable. Physical Normal hospital environment. Close eye work. Hearing within normal range. Exposure to biological and mechanical hazards. Operates various lab analyzers, centrifuges, microscopes, lab refrigerators and freezers, alarm systems, incubators, rotators, water baths, safety hoods, incinerators, PC’s, computer terminals and printer, telephone. Frequent standing and walking. Occasional sitting and bending. Lifting, carrying, pushing / pulling up to 20 lbs. This is a safety sensitive position. JOB REQUIREMENTS Education Graduate of a School of Practical Nursing. Completion of LPNII course. Experience Two (2) years nursing experience, with one-year practice following completion of LPN II course. One (1) year experience must be a hospital setting in a medical-surgical environment. Knowledge and Abilities: Demonstrated knowledge and skills necessary to provide care to and communicate with primarily the geriatric population, and to a lesser degree the pediatric and adult populations. Demonstrated knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span. Able to assess data reflecting the patients’ status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient’s requirements relative to their age-specific needs.
