About this Job: General Summary of Position The Inpatient Coding Quality Review Specialist is responsible for providing expert review to ensure the quality and integrity of medical records. Responsibility includes validating ICD-10-CM/PCS codes by examining medical record documentation the assignment of present on admission (POA) indicators and discharge disposition status. Also responsible for reviewing Quality indicators which include MHACs, HACs, PSIs and Mortality reviews. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Contributes to the achievement of established department goals and objectives and adheres to department policies procedures quality standards and safety standards. Complies with governmental and accreditation regulations. Assists with the development of system-specific coding guidelines as needed and participates in Quality review team meetings.
