Overview: Serves as a clinical and administrative support to the Nurse Manager on a designated unit to ensure the delivery of professional and outcomes-focused care. Accountable for daily staffing and unit based follow-up of issues that assist in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care needs based on quality benchmarking, patient acuity/care trends, staff clinical education needs and patient satisfaction. Provides leadership to ensure excellence in nursing research, education, and practice. Works with the Nurse Manager to provide staff development and performance evaluations, and works collaboratively with the Nursing Coordinators to facilitate throughput.
