Job Description: The Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the care of patients. The staff RN utilizes the nursing process by use of technology, therapeutic intervention, evidence-based practice and coordination of care with other health team members. Shift - FT Nights Essential Functions The Clinical Decision Unit (CDU) is a fast-paced, 15-bed unit adjacent to the main ED. We care for a wide variety of diverse patients that are expected to have a shorter length of stay than the more acute inpatients would have, but are also not well enough to be discharged from the main ED. Assess: Performs appropriate assessment of physical, social, and psychological status (including cognitive, communicative, and developmental skills as appropriate).
