JOB DESCRIPTION: Driver Rehabilitation Specialist: Driver Rehabilitation at the University of Vermont Medical Center is comprised of a small team of multi-talented occupational therapists who are Vermont Driving School Instructors and Certified Driver Rehabilitation Specialists. Driver Rehabilitation Specialists provide thorough evaluations and appropriate treatments for people with conditions that may affect their ability to drive safely. They offer specialized driving programs for clients who are new or potential drivers (students), clients who have low vision, senior drivers, and drivers who require adaptive equipment. These services are provided in our clinic as well as in our two adaptable driver training vehicles. Unit Description: As an RN in our fast-paced, 32 bed post-operative unit, you will care for a mixed population of orthopedic patients. Our team is a collaborative mix of RNs, LNAs, Unit Secretaries, Nursing students, Physical and Occupational Therapists, Case Managers, Quality partners, Medical Students, Residents and Attendings who work together to provide Miller 6 patients with the highest quality care. We have state of the art rooms with beautiful views of the UVM campus and Lake Champlain. Every room is equipped with a ceiling lift and plenty of room for families and space in which to do physical therapy. We primarily treat post-surgical patients including trauma, total hip & knee replacements, hip fractures and spine patients. Nurses are encouraged to grow professionally through Orthopedic specific certifications. Unit Description: Inpatient Psychiatric RNs work on both of our mental health care units: a 16-bed locked unit that cares for both voluntary & involuntary individuals and a 12-bed locked unit designed primarily for voluntary individuals requiring acute mental health care. Our RNs actively participate in treatment plans, treatment rounds, psychiatric assessment and care, along with medical/surgical assessment and care. This position is part of the multidisciplinary team comprised of MHT/LNAs, RNs, Providers, Social Worker/Case Managers, and Group Therapists. RNs are trained to cover the Charge RN role and to precept. On-call: Not required. Requirements: Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the State of Vermont required.
