Overview Performs ultrasound examinations of the heart and vessels to assist the physician in the diagnosis and treatment of disorders affecting the cardiovascular system. Responsibilities Key Responsibilities / Essential Functions Knowledgable of and selects appropriate ultrasound equipment for echocardiogram procedures. Monitors sound waves for quality of ultrasonic patterns and documents on appropriate media to obtain a permanent record of examiniation. Consults with physicians as required regarding collection of test data and critical test results. Manages and operates equipment safely and correctly. Inspects equipment daily to ensure it is operating effectively. Reports malfunctions.
