JOB PURPOSE AND REPORTING STRUCTURE: Under the direction of the Behavioral Health Clinic Manager and Director of Behavioral Health Services, the nurse assists the psychiatric prescribers in providing quality care to patients. This includes facilitating medication refills, triaging patient needs, and providing patient education.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Works collaboratively with the psychiatric prescribers for the coordination of quality healthcare to the patients in the behavioral health clinic
Coordinates medication refills with prescribers, which includes completing prior authorizations, calling/faxing pharmacies to ensure the accuracy of prescriptions and that the prescriptions have been received
Provides triage via phone or in person
Facilitates referrals for lab work requested by the prescribers, including internal and external referrals
