Unit Description: The Infusion Nurse in the Adult Infusion Center provides infusion, injection, and transfusion therapies to adult patients in an ambulatory setting. Key aspects of this direct-care role include insertion of peripheral intravenous catheters; establishing access via utilizing implanted devices; administration of non-hazardous therapies; supporting the infusion patient during their appointments; and patient assessment and education.
