Unit Description: Cardiac and Vascular Care (CVC) is a 16-bed unit designated for cardiac and procedural patients requiring a brief hospitalization. Our Registered Nurses care for a variety of patients including those recovering from surgery, interventional radiology procedures, invasive cardiology procedures; including ST-elevation myocardial infarction, non ST-segment myocardial infarction patients, patients requiring percutaneous coronary interventions, and patients requiring antiarrhythmic medication initiation. The average RN to patient ratio is 1:4. The incumbent m ay be required to float on a rotational basis as needed and typically works 2 weekend shifts in a 4-week schedule block. Education/Skills Required: Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing. Currently licensed as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State. We work closely with our Palliative care team, whose office is located on R5.   Oncology care ranges from, symptom management, radiation, Chemo (IV and oral), medication side effects and Oncological Emergencies.
