Overview
About the Role The Flight Nurse is responsible for delivering and coordinating both Basic and Advanced Life Support (BLS and ALS), as well as in-hospital care, to critically ill or injured patients of all ages and backgrounds. Operating in all weather conditions, the Flight Nurse works collaboratively with the patient care team under the guidance of a licensed Medical Control Physician (MCP) and the supervision of the Chief Flight Nurse or Air Medical Coordinator. Duties include performing patient assessments, providing appropriate treatment, and safely lifting, moving, and transporting patients using specialized equipment and techniques. The role also involves completing all required documentation and additional tasks that support the effectiveness of EMS operations, while consistently representing University Hospital and EMS in a professional and respectful manner.
