Position Title: Communication Specialist - Patient Logistics Department: Patient Logistics Center Job Description: Under general direction, responsible for assisting with hospital through put by regulating bed availability throughout the hospital and inbound requests for Patient Access to OU Health. Essential Responsibilities Responsibilities listed in this section are core to the position. Inability to perform these responsibilities with or without an accommodation may result in disqualification from the position. Monitors admit status of patients from the ED to the inpatient/Observation setting. Initiates clear, concise, and ongoing communication regarding bed availability and patient flow. Communicates with ED care managers, Bed Management Coordinator, environmental services, and inpatient charge nurses regarding patient status and bed availability.
