Location/Department: Hospital - Med Surg
FT nights (72hrs. PP) every other weekend
Job Summary:
To provide basic nursing care to Med/Surg/SCA patients of all age populations.
Supervisory Responsibilities: None
Duties/Responsibilities:
Demonstrates awareness of patient rights.
Understands the spiritual aspects of patient care & can give examples of such.
Uses respect & dignity when dealing with death & dying.
Aware of ethics committee if needed & knows how to address any ethical issues.
Reports sentinel events or adverse drug reactions or incidents as warranted.
Understands patient safety goals & actions taken.
Communicates effectively with RN when warranted by patient condition.
Uses 2 patient identifiers before performing treatments, passing meal trays or obtaining specimens.
