SUMMARY A Senior Cardiac Sonographer will perform a range of ultrasound echocardiographic studies in clinical, clinical research, or research settings. Will be responsible for performing echocardiographic studies to diagnose a variety of vascular diseases, illnesses, and disorders; and, in addition, will be responsible for performing interventional procedures and conducting heart studies. Exams may include Transthoracic, Exercise, and Pharmacologic Stress Echocardiograms, special procedures, including but are not limited to, echo-guided myocardial biopsied, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy studies, and additional procedures as dictated by research protocols and clinical trials. Will perform inpatient and outpatient echocardiograms and Doppler analysis. Will provide 2-D echocardiograms and transesophageal echocardiograms (TEEs). Under the general supervision of the Administrative Director, the Chief Cardiac Sonographer is responsible for organizing, managing and directing all technical and staff activities of the echo lab. Assists in planning and managing divisional operations, schedule, safety, staff engagement, and establishing guidelines for quality control of equipment and procedures. Prioritizes services rendered based on types of procedures, patient conditions and staff/equipment available. This role will support our clinical department but may also support the echo school if needed.
