JOB SUMMARY The Registered Nurse (RN) provides professional nursing care to assigned OB/GYN patients. The RN assists physicians with examinations, labor and delivery, operates and monitors medical equipment, and records relevant statistics, including time of birth. Provides immediate and comprehensive care to mothers and newborns during antepartum, intrapartum and postpartum periods. Observes patient's condition, records observations in patient medical record, and updates attending physician directly when necessary. May administer medications and IV solutions as necessary. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Performs patient assessment and documents in patient record.
