Job Description Summary MUSC delivers approximately 3,600 patients annually. Labor and Delivery, consists of 17 LDRs, 2 ORs, 3 PACU beds, and 4 Triage rooms. In addition to vaginal and cesarean deliveries, L&D provides operative services such as cerclage and tubal ligation. Medical support includes management of gestational/chronic diabetes, hypertension, and other high risk antepartum conditions including acceptance of high-risk maternal transports from the region. Wireless Electronic Fetal Monitoring is available in all beds. Perinatal palliative care is available as needed. The staffing mix includes Registered Nurses, Certified Surgical Technicians, and Unit Secretaries. There are eight OR suites on level 3 and two minor ORs on level 2 which cover all pediatric surgical specialties including: Trauma, Transplant, Ortho, Neuro, ENT, GU-GYN, Ophthalmology, Plastics, Dental, General Surgery, and Pediatric hearts. Job Description Summary West Campus OR is part of the West Ashley Ambulatory Surgery Facility. The facility has 2-OR’s but is expanding and as of January 2026 will consist of 5-OR suites, 3-endoscopy procedure rooms, a Vascular Interventional suite (VIR) and an outpatient Cath./EP Lab. This position is for the OR and our surgeries are Orthopedic/Total Joints/Sports Medicine/Spine cases. The patient population is primarily adult with some procedures done on teenage athletes. Although we also hire Certified Scrub Techs., RNs hired into the OR are trained to both scrub and circulate.
