DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:
The Cardiology/Radiology Specialist educates patients and staff appropriately in reference to radiology issues among other assigned tasks.
SUPERVISION: Reports directly to Nurse Manager and/or Charge Nurse
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Effectively identifies and solves problems in reference to radiology equipment, patient care or radiation safety.
Consistently communicates abnormal variances to Charge nurse, Circulating RN or Nurse Manager.
Competent in sterile technique for all cath lab procedures
Demonstrates the following best practices in a consistent and positive manner: Huddles, procedure reporting, Service Excellence principles, and use of sterile technique.
Follows evidence-based policies and procedures to guide radiology practice.
Consistently produces quality radiographs.
Possesses competency in use of technology and computers.
