Under the direct supervision of the charge nurse, assists with emergency outpatients and performs approved duties. Reports to the Nurse Manager, Charge Nurse, and/or Shift Supervisor.  Job Function : 1. Transports patients using wheelchair or stretcher within the hospital and to and from vehicles. 2. Assists those patients requiring help with ambulation. 3. Provides general and basic patient care, such as positioning patients, lifting and turning, assisting in use of bedpan, commode, and urinal or bathroom. 4. Answers and responds to call lights or uses intercom to determine patient needs, and advises nurse of needs beyond scope of position. 5. Cleans and changes stretcher linen between patients and as needed during patient visit. 6. Empties dirty laundry. 7. Labels, bags, and delivers samples to lab per hospital protocol. 8. Assists patients to dress and undress and cares for patient belongings, including bagging and labeling same. Cares for valuable according to policy. 9....
