Overview
The Pre-hospital EMS Transport Liaison / ED Paramedic is an allied health professional whose primary focus is to assist Emergency Department staff in the intake, triage and transitional care of patients arriving by ambulance particularly in situations involving ED patient overload which may create delays in bed/room assignment and offloading of EMS patients. The individual possesses the knowledge and skills necessary to provide competent patient care under the direction of the Emergency Department Charge Nurse, RNs and ED Physicians and in adherence to institutional/departmental policies and procedures. The individual will also provide multi-functional assistance to ED staff and Physicians as necessary during intervals when intake and transitional attendance of EMS patients is not immediately required and as allowed within defined and authorized scope of practice and established limitations.
