The Surgical/Orthopedic unit is an acute care unit located at Northwest Hospital. This unit provides care for both medical and surgical patients. As the designated surgical unit, this 40-bed unit offers an excellent opportunity for nurses to expand their clinical knowledge and skills, including medical foundation and surgical specialty. The unit provides exposure to various surgical specialties, such as general surgery, colorectal, orthopedics, bariatric, urology, and others, allowing the team members to learn and develop a variety of specialized surgical-related nursing skills. Although the unit accommodates medical patients, it is a non-telemetry unit.
