Job Summary: The Medical Imaging Physicist is responsible for assuring the safe, effective, and compliant use of medical imaging equipment within the Department of Radiology, throughout the medical center and in affiliated community practice sites. Responsibilities include acceptance testing, participation in quality assurance programs, conducting calibration measurements, specification and evaluation of new equipment, image quality assurance, involvement in radiological protection programs for patients and staff and participation in educational programs for staff and trainees. This role works closely and collaboratively with other members of the physics group and Radiology staff including modality managers, technologists, radiologists, informatics professionals and other staff.
