The hospital has established an EM Residency program with its six PGY1 residents starting July 1, 2020. This academic position offers a monthly stipend and clinical shifts at a competitive rate. St. Rita's is a Level II Trauma Center and the ED experiences an annual patient volume of 57,000 with an admission rate at 25%. Additionally, up to 53 hours of physician coverage and 48 hours of Advanced Practice Clinician coverage are scheduled daily. Clinicians chart with EPIC and scribes assist for 64 hours each day.
