Per Diem, Based on department needs Job Description: The Pathologists’ Assistant is specifically trained in the gross examination, dissection and submission of specimens for histologic evaluation for all commonly received specimens in the Histology Laboratory. Duties/Responsibilities Under the supervision of a board-certified Anatomic Pathologist, the Pathologist Assistant is responsible for: Gross description and dissection (examination of surgical tissues). Submission and preparation of specimens for histologic and other laboratory testing. Gross specimen photography. Process improvement Processing of frozen sections and/or touch preparations for rapid interpretation.
