Staff Nurse, Perioperative Services - Medical Special Procedures (MSP)

Responsibilities The primary purpose of the Staff Nurse position for Medical Special Procedures is to be responsible for the care of pediatric and adult patients undergoing endoscopic and other gastro-intestinal related procedures during the pre-procedural, procedural and post-procedural phases. The nurse delivers care through the use of the nursing process as reflected in SGNA’s Standards of Clinical Nursing Practice and Role Delineation Statements in a manner that is cost effective without compromising quality of care. Expected behaviors include, assessment, planning, implementation of nursing of nursing interventions and evaluation of the physical, psychological, and spiritual needs of the endoscopic patient pre-procedural, procedural and post-procedural phases of care.
