RNs in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit ( PICU ) at Kentucky Children’s Hospital provide care for critically ill children ranging from newborn to 18 years of age. Patient conditions include: recovery from major surgical procedures and life-threatening medical conditions as well as traumatic injuries. The PICU is a 12-bed unit that provides family centered care and open visitation for patients’ immediate family members. As a part of this unit, the RN serves as an important component of the critical care team. This team is responsible for the stabilization and on-going care of critically ill children who require constant observation, timely interventions, and/or invasive specialized monitoring. Must be able to work three, 12-hour shifts per week FROM 7PM TO 730AM; will also be required to work some weekend and holidays.
