Registered Nurses in the RN on-call position in the Birthing Center at Chandler Hospital will care for patients on Mother/Baby Unit and Labor/Delivery Unit and 3 North Antepartum unit and will provide care to patients with conditions that include: laboring with eminent delivery, scheduled induction, scheduled or emergency cesarean section, in need of high-risk antepartal or post-partum care. The Birthing Center is comprised of three units: Labor & Delivery, Mother Baby, and Newborn Nursery. The staff in the Birthing Center collaborates to provide families with a patient-centered birth experience. The Newborn Nursery unit cares for newborns that are 35 weeks gestational age or older. The nursery provides care to newborns during the initial transition phase from birth to discharge.
