Unit Description: The role of the registered nurse is the engine and hearth of patient care as it has a primary focus of telephone and online patient triage. This role will work to coordinate care for our new infusion drug therapy for patients and families, to include coordinating scheduling of appointments, tests and procedures. This position will work seamlessly with our Memory providers as well as other sub-specialty nurses with-in our department. Unit Description: The Infusion Nurse in the Adult Infusion Center provides infusion, injection, and transfusion therapies to adult patients in an ambulatory setting. Key aspects of this direct-care role include insertion of peripheral intravenous catheters; establishing access via utilizing implanted devices; administration of non-hazardous therapies; supporting the infusion patient during their appointments; and patient assessment and education. This team supports two ambulatory settings: a hospital-based location on the main campus of the University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington Vt and 118 Tilley Drive, our community-based site in South Burlington, VT.
