Unit Description:  The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) provides close observation, support and clinical care for the critically ill. The unit was designed by our ICU staff to provide enhanced workflow and encourage family support in a healing environment.  There are 14 private rooms all within steps of the large nurses' station for better visualization. Unit Description: The Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) at Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital is located on our 5th floor and accommodates 34 residents. Our facility serves a diverse range of patients, spanning from middle-aged adults to geriatric residents. We maintain a balance between long-term care and subacute care, striving for a ratio of 14 short-stay patients to 20 long-term residents. Our short-stay patients typically stay with us for 1 to 6 weeks on average, receiving specialized care for conditions such as sepsis, post-orthopedic surgery recovery, and wound care. For our subacute population, we provide a spectrum of skilled nursing and therapy services, including wound care with advanced techniques like wound vacuums, antibiotic therapy, and comprehensive physical, occupational, and speech therapy. Unit Description: R6 is a 24 bed Medical Surgical unit.  It specializes in Orthopedics, Trauma, and Stroke/Neurology.  Included in our 24 beds, we have a 10 bed Joint Care Center, where they have their total joint replacement patients.  Because we specialize in caring for shorter stay surgical patients, we tend to have one of the higher discharge/admission rates in our facility. We currently have a Full Time Night Shift position available. We work closely with our Palliative care team, whose office is located on R5.   Oncology care ranges from, symptom management, radiation, Chemo (IV and oral), medication side effects and Oncological Emergencies. When starting on R5 you will not be required to hang IV chemo for the first 6 months to one year. When you become comfortable with the R5 population we will train you in chemo administration.
