JOB DESCRIPTION: Provides professional nursing care to patients in varying state of health and illness by assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the nursing plan of care.  The Staff Nurse II functions as an essential member of nursing and multidisciplinary teams, providing direct patient care, instruction, and preparation for continuing care after discharge.  May take charge as operational need allows. EDUCATION: Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the State of Vermont is required. ADN required, BSN preferred. He/She demonstrates progressive knowledge and sense of responsibility in the daily operations of the Osteoporosis Center. A high level of commitment, advanced skills, and acceptance of responsibility has been developed in performance of dual energy x-ray absorptiometry (DXA) and quantitative ultrasonography. A thorough knowledge of radiation procedures and safety is required. May be required to work a variety of shifts, at multiple campuses, weekends, holidays, and take call on a rotational basis. EDUCATION: Graduate of an accredited school of radiologic technology approved by CAHEA/JERCT. ARRT certified and licensed with the State of Vermont. EXPERIENCE: ARRT certified and hold a current license with the State of Vermont.
