JOB SUMMARY The Technologist II-Radiology at North Mississippi Health Services plays a crucial role in performing various technical procedures requiring independent judgment and applying ionizing radiation. They also contribute to budget control by minimizing supply use and overtime. This position acts as a liaison between staff, physicians, patients, and family members, ensuring effective communication and interaction within the Radiology department. JOB FUNCTIONS Technical: Have the ability to perform a variety of technical procedures that will require independent judgment and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation. Patient Care: Before the first treatment on any field (initial or boost) the therapist will do the following: check the calculations sheet and simulation sheet with the record and verify system to assure that all of the entries have been correct They will initial the calculation sheet and place an entry in the treatment chart stating that they verified the initial IMPAC set-up and simulation information. The chart will be checked to make sure that there is a signed consent form, face photo and simulation pictures are present. They will review the simulation film before the first treatment. They will record the initial set-up date on treatment parameters sheets and report any deviation to physicist/dosimetry. Initial port film is to be taken on the first treatment if the treatment blocks are available.
