The Radiation Therapist applies ionizing radiation to patients in accordance with the prescription and instructions of the Radiation Oncologist, Physicist, and Dosimetrist. This position functions under the authority of the Clinical Oncology Manager and reports to the Director of the Cancer Center. The Radiation Therapist assumes responsibility for all therapy modalities as they relate to simulation and treatment of patients. In addition, he/she may assist in the production ofvac lok, molds, head immobilization devices, electron block and CT simulations. This Therapist works in conjunction with the other therapists in the Cancer Care Center to manage the needs of the radiation therapy area.
