Overview Performs activities and other tasks as necessary in a laboratory environment. Responsible for the testing of WAIVED laboratory tests, as well as setting up Microbiology specimens for culture. Description Responsible for the medical and mental care of Danville City Jail Inmates Responsible for dispensing on all medication; responsible for making medical appointments for inmates; order all medication and medical supplies needed to operate the jail efficiently; maintain inmate medical records as specified by the Virginia Department of Corrections; treat inmates with minor injuries following jail doctors protocol; assist the jail physician on his weekly sick call. Knowledge of approved principles, practices and procedures of Sheriff’s Office; knowledge of the rules and regulations of the Sheriff’s Office; ability to analyze injuries or illnesses. Be able to take blood pressure, vein puncture, and other vitals etc. of inmates Licensed LPN/EMT experience Preferred. Valid Driver’s license Schedule: To be discussed in interview.
