Performs collects COC Urine Drug Screens; provides assistance to MLT, MT and Laboratory Director. Maintains supply inventory for phlebotomy.   Education and Formal Training:  Graduate from high school or equivalent. Mathematical, verbal, and writing skills at the high school level. Phlebotomy certification. Current CPR certification or obtain within 30 days of hire. Completion of general and job specific competencies. Job Summary :   Perform all required duties to safely collect blood specimens from all patient populations.   Accurately label, transport and perform pre-analytical processes to accession specimens into laboratory processes.   Clerical duties may include demographic patient registration, clerical order entry, specimen transport documentation and packaging of specimens for transport. Qualifications:     High school diploma or equivalent.  Completed phlebotomy course with clinical rotation required.  Three (3) months phlebotomy experience preferred; certification preferred.  Considerable ability to work directly with patients.  Considerable ability to follow specified blood drawing techniques and ability to perform functions with high degree of accuracy and timeliness.
