Overview Assists in the supervision, coordination and evaluation of the system and testing personnel responsible for the processing of specimens to obtain data for diagnosis and treatment of disease; consults with the Pathologist Director, Lab Manager/Technical Consultant/Technical Supervisor and Assistant Manager regarding compliance with regulation standards and changes in test procedures; assists in overseeing a wide variety of fiscal and technical activities in this laboratory area to ensure the efficient operation of the clinical  laboratory.  Performs the following duties, as appropriate, for areas of responsibility.   1.       Performs bench testing as necessary. 2.       Assures that all periodic maintenance in department is performed in a timely manner. 3.       Reviews maintenance records and document review on a weekly basis. 4.       Reviews (with documentation) Troubleshooting and Out-of-Control logs. 5.       Assures that inventory...

Overview Performs repetitive and complex laboratory analyses.  Correlates and interprets laboratory data based on knowledge of physiological conditions affecting test results.  Designs, evaluates and implements new methods.  Supervises a laboratory section/shift in the absence of the supervisor. Qualifications Education:  Certification from a nationally recognized credentialing agency, i.e., ASCP, AMT or AAB within  6 months of hire.  Recertification is required every 3 years if certification was obtained on 1/1/2004 or after.  Certification does not expire for individuals certified prior to 1/1/2004. Experience:  Four or more years experience as a medical technologist in the lab section/shift strongly preferred.
