Job Summary Under the direction of the Laboratory Medical Director and Director of Laboratory Services. Performs clinical testing in at least two of the following areas: blood bank, microbiology, serology, chemistry, hematology, or urinalysis. Obtains and receives specimens, understands method principles, performs QC procedures, interprets results as to accuracy, acceptability and critical limits. Works independently, organizing work to meet established deadlines. Core Job Responsibilities Obtains blood specimens by skin puncture or venipuncture using appropriate technique and maintaining the integrity of the specimen in relation to the test performed. Prepares samples for analysis and accurately and efficiently. Evaluates suitability of specimen for analysis: appropriately accepting or rejecting specimens according to laboratory policy.
