Basic laboratory skills, maintenance, QC, and troubleshooting abilities. Understand the clinical significance of the testing performed. Responsibilities for teaching, training, correction of procedural/Instrument issues. EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in biological science or chemistry or associate's degree acceptable (with 5 years' experience). Medical Laboratory Scientist or Medical Technologist certified, or certificate qualified in the field. If certificate qualified, certification to occur within 1 year of hire date, exception or length of time can be modified by Administrative Director. (Certification tracked by department.)
